If the aspirations of our young, energetic and educated citizens have to become a reality then our economy should continue to grow at a fast pace. But it cannot grow without energy. The growth potential and the dreams of the younger generation of the emerging economies like that of India look short lived and aborting as its engines of development are threatening to stall, starving for fuel. |

Mustard Yellow, Red Hot, Pure White, Coffee Brown, Mystic Maroon. These colours pretty much describe an Incredible India1. That of course is India with its wonderful colours of diversity and heterogeneity for the tourists. What about us who have to deal with a set of educated and elected leaders who are incredibly driving this country into a terrible mess? |

A peep into the world of some Entrepreneurial Terms |

There are several jargons used in the world of business and some are peculiar to the universe of entrepreneurs. Terms such as Ability, Achievement, Attitude, Adversity and many more are now frequently used. Dictionary meanings of these terms are always available and they do not give the nuances. Consider these. Napoleon Bonaparte said “Ability has nothing to do with opportunity” Oliver Goldsmith said “The greatest object in the universe, says a certain philosopher, is a good man struggling with adversity; yet there is still a greater, which is the good man that comes to lighten it” I will periodically provide a dose of this vocabulary through some fascinating quotes to give you the other side of the same coin. For ease of search they are listed alphabetically. Caveat lector. That is Latin for – let the reader beware – |

Free Saris, free electricity, free color televisions and now free loans. India is trying to be truly a welfare state that even the Sultans of the Gulf will be put to shame and who knows even Adam Smith must be turning in his graves. All these are key budgetary drills of a government that has thrown to winds all fiduciary responsibilities and accountability in the hope of winning votes so that they can continue to encourage squandering of public funds without being answerable to anyone. |
